For a slow runner it was perfect
I wish I could thank the other competitors for their encouragement and support. I tootled along at the back and was cheered on all the way! Thank you!!
Great Run
My first 10k race and I really enjoyed.
Shame about the weather
Thoroughly enjoyed it
For my first run, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and atmosphere, flat and Scenic considering in the heart of Exeter, great job to the organisers,
Well organised race
Really well run
Beautiful flat run, great organisation.
Great local event
Course was a flat, pleasant, looped route. Congested for speedsters I'd imagine but fine for most.
Lack of toilets not great and a loudhaler for the start would be useful.... Most of us didn't hear a word!
Otherwise a really good local event, well done all concerned.
Disappointing
No audio to start the race or to give out information, just a man (with not a very loud voice shouting) after finishing expected the usual people waiting with medal etc.. but we had to search out the guy giving them out.
I know it’s not big things, but these little things would have made such a difference. Especially after the long drive from Birmingham
Good scenery, nice and flat.
Cups of water rather than bottles - lots of waste.
Nice flat course for 10k fans
Late start, not enough toilets and poorly organised. We love Exeter which is why we chose this run. However, not really worth the 160 mile round trip. Read previous reviews after booking this event. Still a bit of a nightmare. Cramped, late start. Queued for ages for the loo. 2 toilets for ladies! Really?! Received generic medal (not 2020 specific) but no tshirt or goody bag, despite this being advertised when booked. Have to pay to park mostly. Enjoyed the run in itself but won't be doing again.
Incorrect time and location information
The actual run was very good! It's a two lap course with 2 water stops and plenty of Marshalls. Chip timing and a nice medal! My issue was that when I booked this run I got an email confirming the start time was 10:30, when I got there I found the run had started at 10. I wasn't the only one as there was a group of us who all had been told it was 10:30. When I questioned this they just said there had been an error but didn't apologise or explain anything. They let us run but we didn't get our running numbers and so we weren't chip timmed (the very nice chip timing man who didn't have anything to do with the organisation was very helpful) but it was still a bit annoying and no apology still. We were at the back and it was all a bit disheartening.
The other issue was that the address on the email and the website have the same postcode and this postcode took us 30 minutes away from the start!! Again... There were a group of us all at this location so lots of us had been confused by this, this issue didn't help when the run was then half an hour earlier.
I rechecked my email afterwards incase I got it wrong but it definitely says 10:30.
I've done a few runs with mcc promotions before and they were fine so hopefully it was a one off!
enjoyable
Very functional event.
It would be good to see the event run more sustainably. There was a lot of waste in terms of water and plastic bottles, the water could have been provided in smaller amounts in compostable cups. Instead of medals a snack (fruit/chocolate bar).
Great event need to get numbers correct for medals etc
My medal hasn’t been engraved with the event made me feel a bit like the back of the pack not catered for the same also the water ran out at the water stop.
Really great first race
A bit disorganised
No km markers
2 different start times on the website and email.
Disorganised at the finish. Could have done with a choc bar or banana,
Can’t see any results
Scenic 10k route!
The water bottles wet every wasteful. Most people took a sip then threw them on the floor. More sustainable options would be better!
Well organised but a bit lacking in atmosphere.
I assume the late change of course was unavoidable. Having 2 large loops on a fairly narrow path was, at times, a bit cramped and caused obstruction to walkers and riders. A shame that the route couldnt be looped around the other side of the canal. However, well done for efficient organisation and good marshalling.
Nice flat course for a slow runner!
Not closed to public. Bikes ringing bells could be a hazard for both runners, bikes and general walkers.
Not that important but I didn’t appear on the results list - disappointing
Enjoyed the race, thanks !
Would be great to have a better medal
